About the Role
Summit Business Technologies is seeking a motivated, curious, and client-focused Entry Level AI Consultant to help organizations understand and apply artificial intelligence in practical, secure, and meaningful ways.
This role will support Summit’s growing AI consulting initiative by participating in client discussions, identifying potential AI use cases, demonstrating accessible AI tools, helping develop educational materials, and supporting the creation of repeatable AI consulting processes.
The ideal candidate does not need to be an advanced AI engineer. We are looking for someone who understands the fundamentals of generative AI, communicates clearly with business audiences, enjoys learning new technologies, and can translate technical concepts into practical business value.
Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement and AI Discovery
- Participate in client meetings and AI-focused business discussions.
- Help clients identify areas where AI may improve productivity, customer service, operations, marketing, sales, documentation, and decision-making.
- Ask thoughtful discovery questions to understand client workflows, challenges, and goals.
- Explain AI concepts in clear, nontechnical language.
- Help identify realistic, high-value AI opportunities rather than promoting technology for its own sake.
- Document client discussions, potential use cases, and recommended next steps.
AI Demonstrations and Education
- Prepare and deliver introductory AI demonstrations for clients and internal teams.
- Work with AI vendors and service providers to vet solutions available.
- Show practical examples of how AI tools can support everyday business activities.
- Help develop presentations, handouts, use-case libraries, and client-facing educational materials.
- Support Summit’s AI webinar and educational initiatives, including the AI in 30 series.
- Stay informed about emerging AI tools, capabilities, limitations, and business applications.
AI Process Development
- Help build and improve Summit’s internal AI consulting methodology.
- Develop repeatable discovery questionnaires, assessment forms, meeting agendas, and follow-up templates.
- Assist in creating AI readiness assessments and use-case prioritization frameworks.
- Help document recommended AI workflows, implementation steps, and success measures.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, service delivery, and leadership to incorporate AI discussions into the client lifecycle.
- Track client opportunities and help move AI conversations from initial discovery to actionable recommendations.
Responsible AI and Security
- Promote responsible and secure AI adoption.
- Help clients understand risks related to confidential information, privacy, data sharing, inaccurate outputs, intellectual property, and employee use of AI tools.
- Support the development of AI policies, guidelines, and governance recommendations.
- Coordinate with Summit’s cybersecurity and technical teams when a proposed AI solution requires deeper security, compliance, or technical review.
- Understand when an AI request should be escalated to a senior consultant or technical subject-matter expert.
Required Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in business technology, IT, consulting, operations, training, marketing, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, or similar platforms.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to nontechnical business users.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and follow-up skills.
- Curiosity and willingness to continuously learn new technologies.
- Ability to ask effective discovery questions and understand business processes.
- Professional, consultative approach to working with clients.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a broader team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using AI tools to improve business workflows.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, or other common business platforms.
- Experience creating presentations, training materials, or client documentation.
- Understanding of cybersecurity, data privacy, or responsible AI principles.
- Experience in a managed services, technology consulting, or professional services environment.
- Exposure to automation, workflow design, prompt development, or business process improvement.
Success in This Role
Success will be measured by the candidate’s ability to:
- Conduct productive introductory AI conversations with clients.
- Identify and document practical AI opportunities.
- Deliver clear and engaging AI demonstrations.
- Help create a consistent, repeatable AI consulting process.
- Develop useful client-facing materials and internal resources.
- Support the growth of Summit’s AI advisory services.
- Build trust by presenting AI realistically, securely, and in a business-focused manner.
Position Level
This is a junior-level consulting and business technology role. The successful candidate will receive guidance from Summit leadership and technical subject-matter experts while developing the skills needed to independently lead basic AI discovery conversations and recommendations over time.
